Music

Do like David Cassidy? I do and David Essex LOVE Queen though. Got my Spotify on at FULL volume... Playing my songs and chilling out BIG TIME. Music has such a strange effect on people...well me anyways! I was happy enough sitting on my butt going through Facebook, even though I had TOLD me NO FACEBOOK so many times *sigh* I'm like a teenager I just don't listen to me anymore! Anyway a post came up of this guy killing it to Uptown Funk not sure what he was on but if he could send me some it would be good..... actually it's most likely that stuff that you blow balloons up with, knowing me I would end up blowing ME up so maybe I will stick with the good music. I digress back to the guy dancing

Then I had to go find Uptown Funk on Spotify..then Happy (Pharrell Williams) so I added them to my play list so now I have David Cassidy playing. Next up The Bay City Rollers then David Essex followed by some random songs from my childhood. Have you ever heard of The Spanish Flea by Ray Davis? I played this over and over and over as a child? You would think I would have grown out of it but nope.. still a good song! Others include The Pushbike Song, Green Onions, Candida and Hot Chocolates(How can you not love a group called HOT CHOCOLATE?)You Sexy Thing! So I'm buzzing out to music right now! Tell you something else that made me buzz a post from Sheryl in TX I just never realised people actually look FORWARD to my posts???? THANK YOU you have made my day...month...YEAR!😸  OK, so now I have a sore throat need a drink back soon.......

Jordan the cat beat me back to the keyboard dang cats! Do you think he is trying to say I'm drunk? LOL
It's OK I'm not, I don't drink.. not because I'm strange or anything (my opinion this may not be the opinion of others) just can't find a drink I like the taste of. As a teen I would drink Vodka and orange but one day I thought Why? So now I just have the orange and get drunk on life! Corny but true 😜
I'm telling you all this as for the last ...Oh, 'We Will Rock You' Queen has just come on ....sorry got to go head bang for a minute....
More Paracetamol anyone?

Weather has been OK'ish Oh, I know I'm never happy with the weather but as I have said before I'm English we are always unhappy with the weather! Girls have been in the pool as have I and now it's stopped raining it's warming up again.
Warming some heads (doll not human) for a head swap and Perri is looking after them, it was his brother Jordan who was being rude to me on the keyboard before.
The garden looks so fresh and pretty after the rain so.....

Thank goodness it's Sunday!

Thank goodness it's SUNDAY! Enough of the whizzing about all over the place in the heat! As I said in my last post we went to Harefield hospital on Wednesday. Then on Thursday I spent most of the day doing housework and playing catch up. It was supposed to be my 'me' day as mum has the girls for me. BUT dad decided to spend the day 'gardening' this was five minutes in the garden as it was so hot followed by sitting on his backside asking for tea and lunch while watching the TV! Not really the alone time is was hoping for and if I say anything his has that lost puppy look and can't see that he is not wanted... just for a while I really need that 'me' time but other than in bed (with cats rattling the door) I never have any anymore! I did take a few pictures
These are my Doll Diva Birthday Bash Prizes
Cushions and a colouring book plus pencil set
OK, so I have a very small thing about doll toilets and this little mini loo came with my prize (thanks Kathy)
And my other prize was a cake cutter, handy as it'sc my birthday in a couple of weeks

Oh, and I brought this bike when I was in Brighton
So Friday mum, girls and I drop this portable heart thing off at the hospital and then went on to Kingston Upon Thames for the day. Well, that was the plan anyway. Good drive to the hospital and relieved that we turned off the M25 just as the traffic was building up. Dropped off machine and decided a cuppa was required as it was already hitting 27c (80f). Then setting the sat nav (we call her scatty) we headed for Kingston. Now what we did not realise was there was a MASSIVE flower show on at Hampton Court Palace
Plus an accident on M25 AND a march through London! THREE HOURS....THREE HOURS it took us for a under thirty minute journey. By the time we arrived so knackered we called hardly put one foot in front of the other shopping was not the most fun of ideas. So a walk down to the river dodging from one spot of shade to the next as by now is was 32c (90f) we did find a wonderful French restaurant that we will most defiantly go back to. After out late lunch a little look around and then back to the car as we headed home. Again Scatty was employed as our assistant in the hope of avoiding the home bound traffic and she did well guiding us through London and areas we had never been to before. We arrived home exhausted and after feeding cats, clearing cat boxes and a cuppa my bed was very much calling (yelling) out to me.
Saturday was up early AGAIN and this time we were off to the o2 Arena to see Mrs Browns Boys. Drive was good and Security was everywhere (no surprise after Manchester) Watched the show, very good and very funny also very rude!
The yet another search for somewhere to eat. This time it was Ask Italian and the food was again very good.
Still VERY hot and was so happy to be home and in bed...with the fan on full naturally.
Now for some rest....

Back to normal....whatever THAT is?

So now I'm back home and playing catch up. Amongst these joys are cleaning the house from top to bottom (eight cats + one week home with only my dad to look after them = well, a lot of mess!) Plus, the washing...why so much washing when you go away are we running nakid at home and I have never noticed? Weather has warmed up and is now HOT! Hoping it will break soon. Wednesday dad had another appointment at Harefield Hospital (heart) he had a monitor fitted for 24 hours. The rather grumpy woman who fitted it said to bring it back in 24 hours and was rather astonished when dad said we could not and I would return it Friday morning. Now this hospital is over an hours drive away on the notorious M25. If you have not heard of the M25 we in UK call it the M25 car park! It's a motorway that encircles London. Not some place you can easily pop over to.
OK, so now for some photo's from this past week
Six cats in one place is as good as it gets as the other two are kept away from this lot due to fights etc.

I notice a broken branch on my rose bush, I'm guessing due to the weight of the rose heads. I thought I would bring it indoors

see just one stem

A couple of holiday purchases this unit is the perfect size for my dolls I purchased this in Laklands
The little Cacti are for clipping onto glasses so you know who's is who's

Still in Brighton

Thursday dawned bright and sunny and after breakfast with legs still aching a little from Wednesday's yomp we set of up hill and into town for yet more shopping. It's good that we all love to shop as Brighton has a LOT of shops! Anyway early afternoon we made our way back down hill to our hotel and after a rest and change of clothes we went for Afternoon Tea at The Grand (as the name suggests a rather grand old hotel). There is always a doorman but not today....today we made our own way in. Then we had to find were to go for tea. Then we waited for someone to seat us! We noted that the hostess/ waiter our whatever you call her placed everyone else's napkin on their laps... but not us (this really annoyed my mum)!

I noticed the floor was not as clean as it should be.

We ordered Blue lady tea, and it was lovely. Then the sandwiches, cake and quiche arrived the quiche was goats cheese so I passed on them but the sandwiches and cake was lovely. Once finished MORE sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and a load of little cakes.

There was waaaay to much food so we requested doggy bags. These came up as four really sweet little boxes (forgot to take a picture).

Once back at the hotel we could do no more as exhaustion set in. We did mange to eat the cakes though later that evening HeHe
Friday was another nice day and time to pack to go home. All this shopping but we still had a lot of space in the car (not heard off) So it was of to Home Sense (the home side of TK Maxx) Yep we came back to the car with three large bags 😸
Lunch was duck and pancakes in The China Garden (love this place) and we also ordered a take-away for dad (and us).

Drive home not to bad ...about 3 hours! Very tired but with lots of great memories and goodies. Oh, and a still burnt forehead and one boob!

Brighton and Hove

Following on from yesterday with our Brighton holiday.
Monday was the only very hot sunny day (being a little sun burnt that was a good thing) The rest of the week was a mix of sun, cloud and rain.
The view from our room before the rain
Tuesday we went up into town and did TK Maxx (I needed a new handbag (NOT) as did mum so we brought THREE! I also found that they had a large 'plus' sized department so I brought a couple of new tops for my Orlando convention vacation. OK, for couple I brought six. Well, you need to buy things when you see them don't you?
Lunch was in a great little Italian restaurant called Donatello's good food good price.
Then we made our way back through The Lanes this is a very old area of Brighton with lots of little narrow lanes crisscrossing themselves. South Lanes nearer the beach have a TON of jewellery shops along with a whole host of other fun, funky and interesting little shops. We did make a little visit to my favourite jewellers LOL! By now it was raining but I did have to stop and take a few quick pictures of this car, I just love the paint job
Wednesday we thought we would take a walk along the beach to the next town Hove. A short walk turned into an all day eight miler. Lots of Art Deco, Edwardian and Victorian buildings
I was amazed how well Amy copped and yes, in the afternoon it rained again. So walking in wet squelchy sandals. Oh, such fun! The shops though were a delight a wonderful mix of old and new. We entered the town from the fare end and these shops were nothing to right home about as most 3 in 4 were charity shops. At first we were pretty disappointed and the only places we could see for lunch was two chain restaurants The Slug And Lettuce.... went in no service and not very clean looking with sticky menu's. I feel if front of house is so dirty what will the kitchens be like? So we left and went to the pub/restaurant opposite. Pretty much the same no help un-cleared tables and a group of men chugging on their fags in the doorway..so we left!
Around the corner heading back towards Brighton and everything changed. I spotted a shiny restaurant on the other side of the road. Called Barcode a New York Italian restaurant we were greeted at the door sown to a lovely clean table and handed clean menu's. The waiters were attentive but not overly so made a fuss of the girls and the food was .... exquisite
This was our starter Toast, pate and sweet onion relish
After lunch as we walked back to Brighton so many WONDERFUL shops...in case your wondering we like shops!
Need a nice big cool box on our next visit
This amused us the Pigeons sheltering from the rain
Down a little side road I spotted this interesting house

Travelling to Brighton

A little bit of a cheat on my days as I have been MIA this last week but back now. I've been on vacation in my favourite UK spot Brighton. Brighton is such an eclectic place I blend right in.😏
So we drove down on the Monday, a good drive just over two hours (can take anything from two too six hours) Having arrived a little early at hotel our room was not yet ready so as it was a beautiful day we thought we would go for a walk along the beach. Then having spotted some deck chairs we decided to sit a while.
Then feeling a little hungry and me having two vouchers for free burgers at the hotel restaurant we decided to get take out and eat on the beach. The burgers were lovely and full of taste. (I had the free burger vouchers as on our last visit the service was so poor) After lunch we wanted a drink so went to a beach cafe for tea and a shared cake.
The tea was to strong so I did not drink it but the cake was nice. By then it was time to check into our room. We had the same room as we have had before, this makes things easier for Sophie but more so Amy with her poor vision. Later walking through reception I noticed a girl caring something quite big (no glasses on) On a closer look it was a..... wait for it...... A SEAGULL!!!!!! Who the heck walls around with a seagull let alone takes it up to their ROOM???? Yes, a woman on reception did try and dissuade her but she said it was her PET!!!!
Later back in the room I started to feel a little hot and when changing I realised that all that time in the sun and I forgot to put sun cream on my face and chest I only put it on my arms for some strange reason. So by the evening it was hard to distinguish between me and a Lobster!
Dressing for dinner that night needed some work!
