HOT HOT HOTTER

14:22 21/06/2017
It has been in it's 80/90 all week I'm just soooo hot! UK do not do THIS hot, last time was 1976! That was the year I took my exams and students were fainting left, right and centre! We have above ground pool, the pool has a heater we have always needed the heater...I have not had the heater on all week. Boy it's HOT! (have I mentioned it's hot before?) Other places when it's hot a lot they have air con UK only the big stores have air con, homes we don't have air con...OK, be back soon I need a swim.....
16:45 21/06/2017
I'm back and nicely cooled. After my swim I did have an ice-cream and my little guy Perri was crying for some attention so I sat with him for a while.
Perri on his perch with Ike on the lower level
Poor Perri Monday I noticed his eye weeping a little and by the evening it was closed so Tuesday morning it was off to the vets where it was discovered he had a scratch on his eye. Now on eye drops twice a day, the vet said his eye would hurt more in bright lights...it's bright and sunny Oh, and HOT so Perri must stay indoors until Saturday when I take him back to the vets. Keeping Perri in also meant I had to move my foam core boards, if you have a cat and these boards you will know how much cats love to use them as scratching posts! Some of mine have pretty much been wrecked by the cats.
Jordan on my foam core boards
I moved the boards to the doll room as it's to hot to be working in there at the moment. My poor dolls I hope they have not melted away? I have been leaving the door open with a screen to stop cats getting in naturally LOL Also had the fan on in there a few times hoping to keep it at least a little cooler.
As to what I have been doing, that would be not a lot...it's waaaay to HOT!
OK, so just as a bit of useless information or conundrum if you like. I brought a new keyboard a just after Christmas. When I wrote out my e.mail address the @ came up " very strange but as I could not be bothered to take the keyboard back and as I knew the issue I just carried on. So today??? very strange they are the right way round? Maybe the heat got to the keyboard and fixed the traversal? Who knows, after all in this heat anything could happen...did I mention IT'S HOT!
I have been attempting to take some photo's of some dolls I want to sell (when I get the time) Some of the pictures came OK I think?

Hair cuts and cats

Thursday was a English weather day...hot/cold/windy and everything in-between! For me a mix of swimming and housework. Then I decided to sort through some dolls I want to sell...
With help from Jordan.

If your interested in any of the dolls in the picture let me know!

Ike not giving a dam!
Friday weather as before, lazy morning then off to the hairdressers after lunch. Amy soooo wants her hair coloured but she has to wait until she is 16 (another 18 months). This time Sophie and I only had our hair cut and paying out for a colour would be a waist of money with use going swimming most day plus, not sure how colour goes with chlorine?

And back to cats Tilly on the table... this cat has no manners!
All my boys together Godfrey with a flee, Perri, Ike and Jordan.
See the two little cats in the bottom right hand corner, my parents brought the ornament for me I think it looks like my boys brothers Perri and Jordan

A Mixed Bag

Yet another one of those weeks.
Monday not to bad working through a load of doll 'stuff' that I will be looking to give away or sell. Wanted to take some photo's but way to windy.
Tuesday Sophie went to collage and mum, Amy and I went to Tesco shopping plus mum had an eye test booked and more important we wanted to book our vacation. Arrived at 9:30 I did tell the Virgin agent that it was going to be a complicated booking but even for me this one was a doozy! I told her we needed to be in Orlando for convention and wanted to stay for a week. THEN we wanted to.....
1. Drive to Miami over a couple of days and then stay in our usual hotel for a week.
2. Fly to Key West and stay in our Key West hotel a few days then get a car and dive to Miami to finish the week.
3. Fly to NEW YORK.... Amy came up with that idea.
4. Fly to Miami for a week at our usual hotel.
Now, the convention hotel is fully booked I already know this so I had found one I thought was near the convention hotel (I googled it and it's a seven minute walk) That was available so far so good!
Going through the list above
1. To drive would cost almost £1000 more than to fly???
2. Hotel not available and no car rental from Key West!!
3. Not really an idea just a thought from Amy.
4. We sort of ended up with this one but the hotel we have been staying at for the last 22 years is no longer a Virgin hotel due to it going down hill over the last few years! BUT we did find another hotel that we hope will be OK?
Now while talking vacations before I went to the Virgin office I had looked up a few hotels in Orlando and noted to price for one week plus flights. So lets say it was £3500 when the agent gave me my quote this was for one week in Orlando, one week in Miami, flight from Orlando to Miami and flights to Orlando and home from Miami... cost £3200????? OK, so I do get a discount as a Virgin Holiday Club member bet even so???? Anyway all booked so looking forward to later in the year and it only took three and a half hours to book!!!!
After some shopping (for fathers day) we arrived home mid afternoon and was ready for a swim in the pool!
Wednesday, Sophie volunteers at the local hospital (in the kitchen) boy it's a HOT ONE today. As soon as the jobs in the house were done we were so happy to have a lovely swim, the water was perfect. I have had the news on all day as there has been the most horrible fire in London. Many have died and 100's have lost their homes. Even now the fire is still going it's just so very, very sad. But on the other side so many want to help with rooms in their homes with food, clothes and so much more. So much good from so much bad....
Just to end on a lighter note

Looking Up At The Sky

Saturday dawn a beautiful day if a little windy (I lie it was major windy). Wind was good as I think it would have been unbearable other wise. Mum and dad are here for the day as is with most Saturdays. Mum spent most of the day pottering around the garden dad helped out a little but we still will not allow him to do to much.
Girls spent most of the day in the pool I had a couple of swims as did mum. I think it would need to be well over 100 to get dad to go in!
Lovely roast pork dinner. I was worried it would be to hot to cook a roast but having the blind over the kitchen window all day it was not so bad. It was to hot for the cats who spent the day wondering from one bit of shade to another.
Sunday the weather was pretty much the same and girls in and out of the pool all day. Both girls have been taking it in turns to drive me nuts! Some days they could try the patients of a saint... and I'm so not a saint LOL!
Such a pretty sky today

I tried to take a few doll photo's today but the wind was being very unhelpful!
And finally more gifts from the cats

Brothers at play, Perri and Jordan

Kitty Gifts!

After posting yesterday about doll friends visit and busy week by 8:30 pm I was like the living dead and went off to bed. OK, but I forgot to turn the pool back on so today the water was to cold for swimming! Now pump has been running all day as it plays catch up!
Still today I'm not so tired and even managed to sort out a few doll things. I did intend to go through all the stuff I put in my dads shed but just as I was starting ...it rained! Gave up after that.
This afternoon Amy went to a friends for dinner and it was arranged that the would bring her home. Then when I dropped Amy of I was asked would I mind collecting her? I'm a little bummed as I was looking forward to a nice night *sigh*.
Thought I would show my garden from a different side
Sophie with the as always sleeping Tilly
A gift from Jordan
Ike also wanted to give me a gift (mouse)

I thought it would be fun to go big cat hunting
Can you see the kitty?

At the far end of my garden I have a vegetable garden and my very own jungle....well it's the cats jungle really but get shade on a hot day

Hospital Visits and Doll Friends

WOW! Even for me this week has been manic maybe I should change from a post a DAY to A post a WEEK?
Monday I took mum to hospital appointment. She has been getting pains in her chest (nothing to do with heart) some sort of gastric issue. Although after all this time her pain had gone she was told that if she did not have the procedure done and it came back she would be at the bottom of the list. So she went ahead and had it done. I have never seen my mum so wound up about a procedure before. She had to have a tube up her nose and into her esophagus. She had a a machine on a belt that recorded ...well the reflex I guess? She had to wear this for 4 hours and return to the hospital the next day. By the time we got home is was late afternoon and not much time for anything before I cooked dinner.
Tuesday was wet and VERY windy the nice weather was a distant memory. Back at the hospital for tube removal, mum said this was not so bad but I can tell you now I'm soooo not having this done to me! If I get what mum has I will tell then to check HER results. 😼
After a cuppa in the cafe we thought we would have a look around the shops. We were at a hospital in Hemel Hempstead a town we had never visited before and when I had looked up the hospital it showed it was next to a shopping centre. What it had not shown was that Hemel Hempstead was at the top of a VERY steep hill with the shopping centre at the bottom! So down we went one set of steps after another until we found the shops. At first we thought we had wasted our time but then we found the good shops. Maybe that was not such a good thing? LOL Anyway a couple of hours later and large shopper in tow we started to make our way back up the mountain... no I kid you not it was really like a mountain climb. BUT we found and entrance to the hospital with a lift up FIVE floors. then a long walkway and up TWO more floors and out the other side UP yet more steps and we are back in the car park. See I said it was a mountain! So home with a load of new clothes for my holiday (IT convention in October) OK, so shopping a little early but gotta get them when you find them!
Wednesday was MANIC a doll friend was coming for a visit so I needed to not only clean the house (not done as was out with mum) but sort through some of my stuff and move it into dad's shed. I would not say I have to much stuff, one day it will all be used (most of it in foam core for the doll building buildings) By the evening I was starting to think I was ready to expire! LOL
Today is Thursday and my doll friend has been and gone, we got on very well and I loved showing her my doll room and doll collection...she even had a look in dads shed at all my 'stuff'.

My friend also made me the most wonderful gift

I can't wait to add these to my airport.
Still pretty cold and has been raining again, once I had dropped friend off at train station girls wanted a swim, even though it's cold and raining? They were not in there for long and are now warming up indoors with a hot cuppa. Next up I will have to brave the rain and cover the pool back up! I love my kids 😼
