Life is getting in my way!!!!!

I promised an extra episode of The Priors... for last Sunday an UNCUT only version... but having some computer issues!
Not sure The Priors will be ready either for Thursday!
OK, I will explain...
Well, apart from having the constant demands of two kids home for the summer! OK, if the sun is shinning I can despatch them to the pool but this is England and we have lovely weather for only a couple of days a year... and that was in June!
So they are hanging around the house driving my nuts!
BUT... my computer... it is sick! It is manky! It is up the creek!
So I only have my laptop and this has no Photoshop! So for the last TWO DAYS I have been trying to download the 30 days free Photoshop! Still not sorted! *SIGH*
I'm hoping my friends son will be able to do something with the computer when he comes on Friday???? But not holding out much hope! Double *SIGH*
So no new pictures until I (read Daniel) can sort this STUPID DANG COMPUTER!!!!!!

Our Swimming Pool....

Well it's been a looooooooong job and it's not finished yet (ran out of time)! I wanted the pool up and running by the 23rd July when my girls finished school for the summer holidays. So it was a bit of a rush at the end .... and not without incident!
Dad and my friends son Daniel have worked so hard knocking down walls, building walls, laying paths etc.
A TON of trips to the DIY store to get more this, that and the other!!!
Then the pool arrived, it said on the box it takes 80 minutes to set up... TWO days later we are there....I hoped!
Well the pool has a small leak (I can fix it later when the pool is taken down) Why not send it back I hear you ask? Because it's TO DANG BIG!LOL
Godfrey decided it would make a good scratching post... or maybe he was being nosy? Well now there is another whole that was NOT so easy to fix!
As the pool was almost filled I noticed a leak from the exit bung (Where you empty the pool from) It was 9pm getting dark and about 50 with a wind... water VERY cold! So I look in the pool and the bung on the other side had come out Buy the way this was on the 23rd (my birthday)!!! So I phone my parents who come over and I have to get into the icy water and close the bung while mum fixes the other side!!! Easy? NOPE... this is me the tread has gone on the outside and it would not go on properly... now fixed using a plastic bag and a rubber band!
Next we have the filters... first the hoses are to short and do not reach the electrics... so we move the electrics box (Temporary until I get longer hoses) One pump in fine... the other has a MAJOR leak... will have to send it back! So we are running the pool on one pump and it's now heating up nicely!
So now for the pictures...

Check out the 'Godfrey' patch!!!!

Miami Vacation.....Part Four

Before leaving for Miami 'Teresa in Miami' and I had got chatting and she invited my family and I to her home for a Barbecue and some Doll Play!
So on Saturday her brother Chuck collected us from our hotel and took us to Teresa's beautiful pink home! Teresa welcomed us with open arms and we all had a wonderful time. The girls played in the pool with Teresa's Golden Retriever Buba and Teresa's boyfriend Pablo. While mum and Chuck looked on and chatted! Teresa and I???? Well we went off to play in Teresa's amazing doll room! I have never met anyone with as many dolls as ME! LOL Pablo was also in charge of the barbecue so as evening set in we all gathered around the table for a feast! We all got on so well Teresa invited us back the following weekend to spend Memorial Sunday with them.
Again Check collected us and on our arrival we was greeted by Teresa, her sister Kate, Buba AND new chocolate dog Pearleen (hope I spelt her name right?). Teresa had only had Perleen a few days but she was already a very settled and got on well with my girls. Again lots of time in the pool joined by Pablo and then while the girls and dogs played, Pablo cooked and the others chatted giving Teresa and I time to play dolls.... lots of re-dressing! The food was once more delicious and lots of fun and joking. You say CUP cake ....we say FAIRY cake! OK, maybe you had to be there?
Anyway both days were wonderful and meeting Teresa and her family truly helped make our vacation extra special! (Amy talks about Teresa constantly and every morning asks when we are going back)

Once we had driven around for a few days and got used to the car and the roads......driving on the WRONG side of the road is just BAZAAR!
We packed an over night bag and set off for Key West. Hoping that the storms would stay away (they did)!!! Mum drove the first part down to Key Largo where we stopped for breakfast and then it was my turn to drive. I have NEVER in 15 years driven in the US before! Mum drives I navigate! But I decided it was time for me to bit the bullet and go for it! (over the years I had built up a bit of a phobia as mum is always fulling off the edge of the road) But it went without incident! Going over the Seven Mile Bridge and and the STUNNING scenery if you have never been to The Keys.... WHY???? If your American.... DOUBLE WHY????
We had not pre booked our hotel and as we hit Key West Stopped at the first hotel The Holiday Inn, good move a wonderful hotel with stunning pool! PERFECT!!!!
After a swim and a freshen up we got a Taxi down to Mallory Square to watch the performers and the sunset! *sigh*  We stopped to look at some sort of memorial garden and a Palm Leaf whizzed by Sophie's head! That was a close one. Then we walked up Duval St the buzz was wonderful but the girls were starting to flag so we got a taxi back to the hotel.
After a good nights sleep and a lovely breakfast we got a taxi back down to Duval St and continued our walk. The Street was so different to the night before but still wonderful! We had lunch at The Hard Rock Cafe and you can see May West (pink Flamingo) in many of our pictures! Then it was time to start back to Miami.
I drove mum was going to take over when we got to Key Largo but I wanted to try my luck driving through Miami's fun one way system! Oh, we stopped at Whale Key for crab and cake (not on the same plate) Lovely!

Over the next couple of days we visited two State Parks...
The first was The John U Lloyd State Park. We ended up there by accident!!!! It was the first day after we had collected the car and wanted to go somewhere in a strait line! (Don't ask) So we thought we would visit Ft Lauderdale, in all the years we have been vacationing in Miami we had never been to Ft Lauderdale? Not sure why??? So of we set.... but if you go in a strait line you end up in The John U Lloyd State Park. We had a lovely lunch and then went for a walk on the beach... Later we drove down to the end of the park (where the big boats come in) It was a wonderful day!

A couple of days later we visited Oleta State Park.... no mistake this time we have visited this park before and it's close to our hotel. We took a picnic and swam in the sea it's so shallow and the girls had a wonderful time. Mum fell asleep on an ant's nest (fortunately not red ants) It was so very, very hot though that we had to leave after lunch for the air-conditioning back at our hotel!

Miami Vacation.....Part One

Well, first I just want to say we had a WONDERFUL vacation.... but not without a few 'glitches'!!!!
Our fight was for Monday 17th May 11.15am. On Friday 14th the news was not so good, Ash cloud was due to close Heathrow Airport possibly Sunday, Monday and Tuesday!!!!! But nothing was definite? So what to do? The original plan was to stay at a hotel near the airport on Sunday and so save on having to get up very early in the morning and stress of driving on the M25 in rush hour.
In the end we decided to stay with the plan and dad took mum the girls and I to the hotel. He stayed for dinner and then drove home....we all hoped he would not be coming back the next day to take us home!
Neither mum or I had a very good night although the hotel room was very comfortable. Up early and phoned the hotel reception who said some flights were still taking off!
So to the airport we went with fingers, eyes and toes crossed!
On arrival the notice board said our flight was still going but would be delayed until 3.30pm. This was fine by us, at least it was still going! Booking in was done on a computer and despite help and a warning from me that machines never work I did my best but..... YEAP dang thing went haywire and we had to book in with a human! I did try and tell them! LOL
Then it was through customs..... they removed mum's hairspray which upset her a great deal but I had tried to tell her.... NO LARGE CONTAINERS!!!!
So we waited and then at  3 o'clock we went through to get on the plain. Departure was eventually at 4.15 pm.
THEN it was a VERY long eleven and a half hour flight (normal about 8 hours) to Miami. We then circled Miami for 45 minutes as it was closed due to a THUNDER STORM!
Sophie was very sick as she had become over tired and the wheelchair I ALWAYS order did not arrive so I had to drag/ carry her until we found some seating! We then waited another half hour until they sent a chair for her! *sigh*
Arrived at hotel 4.30 UK time (11.30 US) VERY, VERY tired!!!!!
The next morning we were up early and went down to look at the sea etc then breakfast a swim and unpacking .....then back to bed for a couple of hours! LOL What a way to start a vacation! Still after a good sleep and another swim we all started to feel a little better!

My Beautiful Jem was put to sleep this morning...

Posted by Susannah on April 29, 2010 at 6:12 AM Comments comments (8)
I had always wanted another white cat after Alexander was hit by a car at four years old. So when we sore 'Sophie' it was love at first sight. She was 18 months old and had been a street cat. She came home with us that day but needed a new name as my daughter is also Sophie! Sophie (my daughter) had been reading Jemima Puddle Duck (who is white) so that's what we re named the cat! Jem for short!
At the time I was warned that it was important to make sure she always had sunscreen on her ears and we did our best! But Jem was one of those cats that would appear from no wear and shoot out of an open door(tongue)
So time past and she had been a part of our family for nine years when I noticed little 'marks' on her ears.... she had CANCER!
Her ears were removed last Autumn but the Cancer came back so this morning I took her to the vet for the last time.....
Dad will dig a hole this afternoon and the funeral will be tomorrow

Rest In Peace Jem.....

Time for an UPDATE....

Well, this blogging lark has been on the back burner for the last couple of weeks! Just got a bit carried away with LIFE!
So now I need to TRY and remember what the heck I've been up to???? So I had to consult the oricale (calendar) LOL
The girls both finished school at lunchtime on the Thursday before Easter.
On Friday mum and dad came to dinner and we had such a fun day playing games and watching TV.
The next couple of days were taken up with housework gardening and other fun stuff!
Some of you might remember I was ill a while back and I had my gallbladder removed? But instead of making a full recovery I was still getting pains, my new GP proscribed some medication that seemed to work and I soon felt fine. But last week I ran out of tablets and decided I no longer needed then... BIG MISTAKE!!!! I missed just two and then borrowed some from my mum (who is on the same medication) but it was to late! I was unwell for the week! So I won't be doing that again! At least I know I need them. LOL
When I started to feel a little better on Thursday we went to a nearby town to do some shopping as Amy and Sophie STILL had vouchers from Christmas to spend. Chinese for lunch and a nice walk in the spring sunshine. They both spent all their vouchers and we all had a good day (mum came too as it's hard for me to keep my eye on Amy AND help Sophie)
On Friday Amy had another eye appointment and as it was the school holidays Sophie came too. She has not been to GOSH (Great Ormand St Hospital) since she was a baby so it was all very interesting for her. After the appointment which being in the afternoon Amy decided not to co-operate with.... we went for a walk around Russell Square I showed the girls the Thomas Coram adoption agency (I adopted then both through TC) and we stopped for a tea sitting at a table outside in the SUNSHINE!
Saturday was another lovely day but the forecast for the following week was not so good so we decided to go to the sea side. Mum had made Cornish Pasties and had them in the freezer ready for cooking so we arrived at the beach around lunchtime, it was windy but the sun was shinning through the haze and we had another lovely day! Only trouble was I did not realise HOW strong the sun was, so guess who got a 'little' burned? YEAP, ME!!!! The girls were fine as was my dad, mum got a little burned to but I was the one with the redness! Only myself to blame I had sunscreen with my and I should have put it on as soon as I arrived and not after lunch! By then it was to late!!! I'm such a dipstick!
Sunday and Monday we stayed home with me slapping on the after sun ever hour or so. By Tuesday I was fine and we went to IKEA, mum needed some new curtains. I'm trying not to buy anything as I'm saving for our vacation but found a chair just perfect for my little Amy. Now she can sit at the table in comfort and not have her dinner under her chin! LOL Oh, and I HAD to by a couple of things for my dolls.... these I will tell you about in a separate post (yes, I know you are just jumping with excitement!!!!) LOL
The rest of the week we have been chilling out and not doing a lot. Had a bit of doll time and Amy had her first photo shoot
And talking of dolls.....
Lukas (Marco) arrived home and I have already posted pictures of him but if you missed them LINK
Harley Ken and Barbie arrived again I have already posted about Harley but if you missed LINK and the LINK to Barbie. I also got a new silkie but I only realy wanted the outfit so not de boxed her yet! I will keep the doll as a display doll, with no articulation I can't play with them so silkies hold little interest for me! Just pretty dolls!
I also got some Sindy furniture this week, just keep fix me up stuff! A kitchen and hairdresser wash basin. A bed, bath and hair dryer. Oh, and a table with four chairs.
Some pictures of my guys in the sunlight

I just love the light play on this picture......

Well, that's it for now....

Nanny McPhee, My Family & Other Animals

Posted by Susannah on March 26, 2010 at 10:14 AM Comments comments (0)
Well the last two weeks have been more than a little busy!
Monday 15th Amy finally went back to school. I stayed for a little while and then I could leave and have some ME time! So what did I do? Shopping (food) and housework!
Tuesday I went with Lorraine to her son Kevin's school for a meeting (he's at a special needs school) then we had some lunch and a spot of DIY shopping then it was a dash home to collect the kids from school! In the evening Sophie went to dance, Amy was so excited and it was very hard to stop her from running riot at the dance school *sigh* but that's AMY!
Wednesday Amy's class went to the toy museum and Amy could only go if I went with her. Well at least the ran stayed away!!!!! Check out my pictures....TOY MUSEUM
After school on Thursday we went to the opticians so Amy could choose her new glasses (just got a call to say they are ready for collection)
The rest of the week I was busy with washing housework and the other joys of life that had been so neglected while Amy was home!!!!!
Monday Sophie had the Orthodontist at The QEII hospital just after lunch. This hospital is a NIGHTMARE for parking but after 20 minutes we managed to find a space and was only 5 minutes late, but no matter they took another 20 minutes before they were even set up???? Then Sophie needed an x-ray and then we waited again to go back in to see the orthodontist! Sophie will need three teeth out and then she can have a braise! she is very excited about this? How things change, I can remember when I was young the have a braise was the PITS!
Anyway when we got home I had a phone call asking if we would like to go to the film première of Nanny McPhee. Naturally I said ..... YES!!!
Tuesday it was Amy's turn for the Orthodontist and she will need to be extra vigilant when cleaning her teeth as they have very small roots and could come out easily???? Why is nothing ever simple???? HAY-HO!
Anyway Wednesday was Nanny McPhee Day
For the full story of our day out.... Nanny McPhee.
Thursday the girls went into school late as it was after midnight by the time they went to bed. Both girls were tired and a bit (very) stroppy  so it was an early night for them both.
So now we are at Friday well it was more washing for me. A visit from a Surveyor about a damp skirting board in the hall... he has no idea why and there is no leakage anywhere??? So the builder will just have to remove it and see what's going on behind it!
Sophie and I went to see 'The Blind Side' then we had a  a Chinese meal. Amy stayed with my mum overnight so I expect mum will have a migraine for the next four days? Mum said Amy was up and dressed at 3 o'clock this morning and had to be sent back to bed!
On the doll front .... I have a 'few' dolls on their way, hopfully some might turn up next week????  Two CHEWIN outfits arrived yesterday morning but not had time for photo's yet! Another outfit came today and I had to pay £13 ($22) in TAX the outfit was only $50!!! I know TAX is necessary but when it's only $50 to start with???? Anyway will try and take some pictures later today.

Lifes a little better this week!

Went to GOSH on Friday and the doctors are VERY pleased with Amy's eye. She can see twice as well as she could two weeks ago! So it's back to school on Monday..... with ME! Yeap, I have to go too! Just for a while ....to reassure the teachers her eye is not about to jump out and run around the class room on it's own!!! I have a prescription for her new glasses, but she can only have ONE PAIR, Amy needs THREE pairs! Two clear (one as a spare and for home and one pair kept at school so she always has them) and a pair of sunglasses! This is just so nonsensical! But hay it not the health service that has to deal with a visually impaired child with no glasses when her only pair are being fixed??? She breaks them a lot...yes, I know your not surprised! LOL Like a lot of children with Downs Amy is sensitive to light but the health service do not think this matters either???? So she can have one pair of reacterlight bi focal glasses, plus her old glasses that are bent and to small for her... plus of course the little fact that the prescription is no longer correct! *sigh*.
Below is the entrance to the new wing at GOSH

Reception in the new wing

And running up a wall

The old reseption area with a music man

Some wall placks

Oh, and a MASSIVE thank you for the e.cards, Amy was over the moon with them and I have printed them off for her to keep.
Other than the hospital on Friday I stayed in most of the week, I did go to parents evening on Wednesday with Sophie (mum had Amy) who is doing VERY well and apart from a small glitch a couple of weeks ago (I think this in part was to do with Amy not being well) all her teachers are very pleased with how she is progressing! Next school year (Sept) she starts her options (leading to her final exams) They all have to take the basic subjects.....
English, Maths, ICT, Science etc plus for subject of their choice. Sophie has chosen Dance, Drama, Child Care and Food Tec. Plus, the school are trying to arrange for her  to go to collage for an extra course in Food Technology. This might help her eventually get a job so I'm hoping it goes well for her.
CATS...Jem is still a bag of bones but is a little more bouncy so her meds must be working? Didi is no longer sneezing but it was a nightmare trying to get her to take her pills!
Got a lot going on next week so I managed to get next weeks The Priors filmed ready for Thursday. Normally I'm still editing it Thursday morning! LOL The writing is not a problem I'm on about episode 66 and I have the outline up to episode 92...yes, I plan a long way in advance. I do have story ideas even beyond this! I also have ideas for two other stories but these might not be photo stories as such as the photo's take such a long time to do??? We will see how things go it might be easier once I have my doll room set up?
I had some time this week to count my dolls....a very long process! I have 990, these will make quite a well populated town when it's built! I have an OOAK, two FR's and I think six Barbie/Kens on order so I'll soon be hitting the 1000 again! Yes,again... I did sell a few 100 off last year! I have a couple 100 Barbie's and Kens to sell at the moment some are already on my 'for sale' page and I hope to add more soon.
While I'm talking dolls my Agnes and her outfit arrived this week! Her eyes and hands are fine I'm pleased to say, I read that some people have had loose hands and wonky eyes (dolls not people that is)....  Oh, I also got a book I ordered last AUGUST 'Barbie Doll Photo Album' not had a chance to look at it properly yet though!

And Finally HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the mothers out there as it's was Mothers Day in England on Sunday 14th March.Mum came round about 12 but dad had buggered of to golf (again) The girls brought my a Calancho plant each and some flowers, plus I'm going to get something else on vacation. We brought my mum two photo frames and a Grandma mug. Mum wanted to know why I had not put any pictures in the frames but I said I would put vacation pictures in them...so she was happy! Dad and the girls cooked dinner which was very funny and they mad a bit of a pigs ear of it but it was fine in the end. A little true story which might explain in part why I'm the way I am! Dad has a twisted vain on his finger it's
above the joint in the middle of the finger... you know, the KNEE joint???? Yeap! I said to dad oh, you've hurt your knuckle? No! he tells me he's hurt his KNEE joint???? Mum says I should not mock the afflicted ....but dad is so much fun to mock!!! Yes, I'm EVIL!!!!

This Week I'm Going To Take Whinging To A Whole New Level!!!

Posted by Susannah on March 6, 2010 at 8:04 AM Comments comments (0)
Hay, It's my blog and I'll whinge if I want too!
I need to get some things of my chest this week and my blog is the ideal place I'm thinking?
First I must tell I'm being totally indulgent and a real SAD SAP.... but hay we all have times like this.... don't we????
So where to start? Well on the positive side Amy is doing well and her eye is healing nicely! We are back to the hospital on Friday. Not so good is that the doctor has said she will need another week off school taking it to 3 1/2 weeks! Now you know I love her TONS but I have been in solitary confinement for three weeks only allowed out for a quick wizz to the supermarket a couple of visit to hospital with Amy and a meeting at Amy's school where my dad looked after Amy telling me to be as quick as I could as he needed to go to his golf club!!!!
I can only take so much children's TV, books, colouring in etc! I was hoping for a bit of me time last Saturday, but the best  laid plans of mice and man ..... Sophie was poorly throwing up and then a head and tummy ache followed by a very heavy period (sorry if that was to much information for you) so I looked after both my babies feeling guilty for wanting time for me!
Another thing that has upset me.... the lack of Get Well Soon Cards Amy got! Yes, I know I'm a sado!!! But I feel bad for her that so few people have time or the inclination to send her a card? After all how hard is it to buy a card or even make one and send it to her? She got ONE card (from ME). A teacher from Amy's school told my friend Lorraine that the class were making her a card? They would be dropping it round to Lorraine and she could pass it on..... never happened? WHY???
What is it with society that people think so little of others these days?Society in England on the most has sure gone to pot! I think in America and many other countries things are different? Now I'm going to get a little controversial... Is it to do in part with religion? There I've said it! In general we are a very non church going country! Thus, the lack of community spirit? Now I'll fess up at this point I do not believe in God the only time I have ever been in a church is for a wedding or funeral! But I can see the merit in wanting to believe in something, of being part of a community where people help each other! I have lived in this village for 18 months and I know only a couple of people. My fault, people on a whole irate me! Is it because I'm an only child and grew up amusing myself mostly playing with my best freind Barbie while my parents worked? (they were both self employed!)
Don't get me wrong I have friends but we keep in touch mostly by phone and I have my best friend Lorraine, who I so wish could learn to drive! LOL
So thats why I have been stuck in doors for three weeks with a fractious child!
Other news.... Jemima Puddle Duck my white cat who had her ears removed last year, well one of her ears became infected and she is now back wearing her 'hoody' and on antibiotics! Delilah my little black cat would not stop sneezing so she went to the vets as well! She has a pollops and is on antibiotic's and ear drops  (Oh, Amy is now down to three eye drops a day plus once a day stingy ones) and some powder I need to put on her food...Didi's not Amy's! The problem is she won't take the pill so I crush it into fish and................ she will 'sometimes' eat it but is often sick afterwards!!!! I'm still paying of the vet bill for Jem from last year and this weeks visit was another £116 (about $150)
I did get to go out for a couple of hours last night with Lorainne at the pub for dinner... dad baby set (mum had a migraine... a whole other story) We had a real giggle which I so needed. Thanks Lorainne!!!!

Dolls? Only arrival this week was my POM but not had the chance to re dress anyone in it as yet! When I got my Basic Barbie's last week I also brought the accessory sets but other than de boxing and loosing the little pink bangle I've not had time to play with them either! Now whenI think about outfits I want to change they all need a little pink bangle to finish the look!!!!
Even this last weeks episode of ThePriors was a rush job as I just could not get on with the story as I wanted too!
Oh, well! That's my life in a nut shell!!! I have more to go on about but won't bore you with any more ..... for now!

My Dolly Diary...

Been stuck at home with Amy for most of the week. She is doing very well and even though some of her eye drops sting she is very good at letting me put them in!
We had another visit to Gt Ormond St Hospital on Monday. After a long drive in we sore Mr Moore and Amy was so good letting him have a look at her eye and he said we would not need to come back for a week so we have an appointment for Monday  coming. Well, after the consultation it was only 10 o'clock and after such a long drive in we thought we would get a cab to Oxford St and have a mooch around Selfridge's. Amy decided she did not want to and winged all the time we was in there! Dang kid!!!! So we went to the Disney Store were Amy decided she wanted a High School Musical outfit and guess what ....they did not have her size!!!!! She was in a mood and declared if she could not have the outfit then she did not want anything!!!! Dang kid!!!! So we popped in to H&M and brought Sophie a designer outfit for her birthday then mum and I brought some make-up in Debehams. Amy was still winging so we got a cab back to the hospital and after some lunch a car took us home!
On Wednesday I had an appointment at Amy's school about her education, this went on for 2 hours... boring!!!! Dad was looking after Amy and had already said he wanted to go up the golf club and for me to not be too long so my plains of a nice chat and a cup of tea with Lorraine (Who lives near Amy's school) came to nothing! Ended up dashing round to Lorraine for a quick wee and a tea then a rush around Tesco's (Supermarket) and home!
Well, that's it! The rest of my  time I have been at home playing games, reading children's stories and watching kids TV! HEEEEEEEEELP my brain is turning to mush!!!
On the doll front things have been quite most of  the week although my long awaited Sugar Daddy Homme (stuck in customs) arrived along with his wife Isabelle (Giselle) and a very pretty Barbie.

Amy Surgery UPDATE.....

Posted by Susannah on February 19, 2010 at 10:55 AM Comments comments (4)
Cataract removal and replacement lens.
Went in as arranged on Wednesday morning to
Great Ormond Street Hospital.
http://www.gosh.org
First we went to the Dinosaur Ward an day ward for the children awaiting surgery. We arrived at 9.30 but surgery was not until 3.30. After a couple of tests Amy was free to play in the play area. This had EVERY facility a child could possibly need. (Well, GOSH is one of the best children's hospitals in the world) In the early afternoon a group of people arrived including a clown and
Popstar to Opera Star

mentor
http://www.rolandovillazon.com
Rolando Villazon

Like all men Amy took a shin to him and the took a TON of pictures (not sure what it was all for though?) He thought Amy was wonderful and he chatted to Amy and I for a while which was good as it relived the waiting a little! LOL
Just before Amy had to go to theatre she changed into her gown and had to have a load of eye drops that stung her eyes! This was distressing but had to be done!(cry) They said she would be about an hour and half so after going up the the ward she would be returning to mum and I went for some breakfast/ lunch/ dinner (well, Amy could not eat so we didn't either).
Then we returned to the ward to wait....and wait.... and wait! At 5.30 she had still not come back and panic set in! Mum went to ask a nurse what was happening and we waited for the nurse to come back with news.... Just as mum was about to tell me to stay calm and not to start with the dancing legs... off they went! When I'm frightened I shake.... well my legs go! LOL Anyway the nurse returned and said we could go see Amy.... mum explained about the shaking and the nurse asked if I needed to sit down or a drink? "NO!!!! just my daughter!" as I shot of down the corridor! LOL
Amy was still asleep! That had been the delay the little monkey would not wake up but she was fine! Just a patch over her eye. She was then taken back to the ward and slept for another couple of hours.
When she did wake up she wanted to know where my mum was and I explained she had gone home on the train and Amy would have to put up with just ME! Fortunately she was OK with this! Then she wanted the patch removed as it was hurting and it was hard making her understand she had to keep it on until morning! Then she had a bad nose bleed (I think through the tubes and her little nose)
After that it was a intermittent... I'm hungry! and it hurts! So three slices of toast, two drinks, a wee and a walk later it was 11.30 and I was still trying to get Amy to go to sleep!!!! In the end I laid in the bed next to her and she slept fitfully!!!! Me? I slept not at all!
In the morning I made us some tea and toast and we went down to clinic to see the very handsome Dr Moore who has to be one of the nicest doctors I have ever met! He spent a long time with Amy and was very pleased with how things had gone. I had already been told Amy had to have drops every hour and they were VERY important! So on returning to the ward I asked about the drops? NO DROPS HAD BEEN ORDERED????? BLEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!! Well our car was booked for 1.00 to take us home and at 1.30 we were still awaiting the bloody drops! To say I was cross is an UNDERSTATEMENT! The Dr said over and over how important these antibiotic's are and we miss the first FIVE doses????? Anyway with traffic jams etc we got home a little after 3.30! Sophie was out the door before the car had even drawn up outside she had missed Amy BIG time!
So now we are home and I went to bed same time as the girls about 8 o'clock! I thought Amy would be a pain in the night be she only had me up once and is starting to get used to the drops,or it could be the sweet she gets with each drop???? I just hope they are going in OK?
So it's back to the hospital on Monday for a check up, fingers crossed all will still be OK!
Keeping Amy still?..... Not a chance! All I can do is TRY and stop her from bouncing around!
Her eyesight?............. MEGA good news. The doctors said her 'good' eye would need patching so her new eye/brain could start working this could take weeks/ months soooooooooooooooooo
AMY CAN SEE ALREADY!
At the beginning I was told there was nothing anyone could do and she would NEVER see much.... her sight got worse over the years and this is why we went to GOSH just hoping that they could help, even in just a small way!
I don't think the doctors knew if this surgery would help and there is still a chance the lens might not graft properly or her eye could get an infection and she could lose it!!!! (That's why the antibiotic drops are so important.... and why I went nuts when they messed up on them)
Anyway so far so good!

So what's new this week?

Well, did a little de boxing......

And I got a new doll.... yes, I know ....what a surprise!

Her name was 'I Am' and she is an OOAK Veronique by Jon Copland.  I have re named her Imani which means Faith.... coincidently my other OOAK doll by Jon is called Faith????

I'm still awaiting my W.Club Agnes and new fashion plus a wonderful new OOAK guy on his way from Dawn OSS. Not going to tell you any more about him until he arrives but he's breathtaking and I just looooooooooove him already! Oh, and he will be showing up quite a bit in The Priors!
Talking of The Priors.... I have not even shot this weeks yet so it will defiantly be late! But hay! The best things are worth waiting for? Right???? The dolls are dressed and the sets are built so it won't take THAT long???? Famous last words!
So what have I been doing? No idea? Time just seems to have run away from me this week? I visited Amy's school on Friday to talk to her class about her surgery and what will happen when she returns to school. Took my Mini Amy, Mini Me and Mr Moore, plus a nurse and anaesthetist! It was last thing in the afternoon so I mad it fun and managed to keep them awake! Amy was very pleased that her mummy was teacher and keeps telling everyone! LOL
This week is half term and I wanted the start to be as quite as possible???
So Saturday morning mum phones and tell me they are coming over later that morning! Last time I told mum that I wanted some space she sulked for weeks so I said fine!!!!
Well, when they arrived we had still not got around to breakfast or getting dressed! LOL I asked dad to get a case down from the loft... he moaned a bit, but what's new? So taking a torch (I said why not take the lamp (better light)? No, he wanted the torch! YEP! you guessed it .... he could not see what he was looking for and said some very naughty words! So Sophie went and got him the lamp! By now I had had enough and retreated behind my newspaper! Eventually he found the right case and still swearing started to fold away the ladders ...almost smashing my light fitting! This was followed by more naughty words from both him AND my mum! Oh, happy days!!!! Next mum decided to dust some of my pictures!!! Why???? She wanted to 'help!'
Well, she smashed on of my favourite frames!!!!!
Then they joined me in the living room so they could continue there argument! *sigh* So much for making things easier on ME! Well, soon after that they decided to go home.... I love my mum and dad but BOY! It was such a relief when they went home! LOL
Sunday evening they came round to babysit so I could have a break!  A coupleof hours out at the pub with my bud, Lorraine. They were having a Chinese buffet... the food was OK but nothing special, but then it was all you could eat for £5! Oh, and I might just add I know it sounds good going to the pub ...but I must tell you I don't drink!
On Monday we went to the cinema to see AVATAR in 3D. It was supposed to start at 15.10 but buy 15.30 it had still not started? So mum went to find out what was going on???? They had FORGOTTEN to turn it on????? BLEEP, BLEEP!!!!
Anyway the film was OUTSTANDING!!!! I have to say the special affects are AMAZING! Then we went for a Chinese meal. This one was sublime!!!!
Today? Lots of housework as I'm not thinking I will have much time other the next couple of weeks! Cooked Amy a special roast dinner this evening and early tomorrow morning there will be a car picking us up to take us to the hospital! Still not that screwed up about the surgery (I'm saving that for when I go to bed tonight!) but how the HELL I'm going to keep her STILL for TWO weeks???? Well, this will be interesting? Mind you we will be going to hospital every couple of days so that will keep her occupied! A coupleof people have suggested sedation? But how can I look after her if I'm sedated????
Anyway will let you know how things are going when I can!

OK, another week over and yes, one or two little things to report....
Last Saturday .....was lovely.... a day without incident!
Sunday....Amy had a birthday party to go to so after a nice leisurely day we went to the party at 4.30. It was one of those -2 days.....COLD! The hall had NO HEATING? Sophie and I sat and shivered for two hours with our coats and gloves on while Amy had fun (although in the end she needed her coat on too) One of the mum's slipped on some ice and had to go to hospital with a broken ankle! Then a child (not Amy) got locked in a toilet and a couple of dads had to break the door down! Oh, and theen tertainment was a CLOWN! I hate clowns! Then to top it all I got a text from Amy's school the heaters has broken so could we please make sure our kids are wrapped up warm?
Monday..... Just as we are leaving for school another text'school closed until further notice'????? So I had to juggle house work with AMY the queen of boredom!
Tuesday..... STILL no school for Amy! Sophie has dance after school and the Dance School has moved to new premises...... The new place is closer  up the road around the corner Tesco's on the right then turn left down the road a bit turn right park by the fence and down an ally! Got it? YEP! as clear as MUD! We got hopelessly lost!!!!! LOL
Wednesday.... Amy goes back to school, YES!!!! I have an appointment at the Options.... THREE HOURS, Yes.... THREE HOURS later I need new glasses and would I like a new test for coloured lenses as they think I suffer from Optic Migraines? The test is £35 the colour lenses between £300 and £500? I'm thinking about it? Maybe after my vacation?
Thursday.....Amy has an appointment at Gt Ormond St Hospital the car collected us at 9.00 am we arrived home at 7.00pm.... a very long day. Poor Amy was prodded and pocked had flashing lights in her eyes and all sorts! End result she need an operation to have a cataract removed. Surgery is on17th February all being well! Staying in over night then visits every couple of days to start with! That's with a two hour drive each way plus having her eyes messed with!!! Oh, and the best bit? She will need AT LEAST two weeks off school and will have to stay still while the new lense grafts????? BLEEEEEP!
Friday..... Amy was to tired to go to school! AND I now have a stonker of a cold!
Saturday...... Amy and Sophie argue most of the day while I wander around like a drug induced zombie!
Sunday....Today.... Feeling a lot better even managed a bath! Still sniffing likea gooden' and have a cough to be proud of but at least I can breath again and the girls are 'trying' to be good! Better now than in a weeks time when Amy is due for surgery!!!!!
So that's my week in a nutshell!
Now onto the GOOD STUFF..... DOLLS! LOT'S AND LOT'S of DOLLS

I also received two sweaters for my male dolls two pairs of jeans for the gals and a pretty black top.... will take pic's of them later in the week (when my brain feels up to it!)

Well, another funny old week!
The weekend was fine, on Monday Amy was at school while Sophie had an inset day (teacher scive day) After dropping Amy at school Sophie and I went to Hoddesdon to collect Sophie new glasses and do a bit of shopping, then when we got home I checked Sophie's homework to find that she needed to do an English assignment but she had not brought it home. So I told her she would need to do it at school!!! Well today is Friday on Thursday so had detention for not doing it... and today, she has STILL not done it!!!!Other than physically going to school dragging her out of lunch and sitting with her while she does it I dispear!!! Oh, and I did put a note in her book asking if someone could make sure she did it but to no avail?
Anyway back to Tuesday got a phone call at 11.30 am to say Sophie had had anaccident, she was OK but had traped a finger in a bin?????? YEP! But is was not cut or broken just swollen? She was OK and wanted to stay atschool so I said OK and went back to house work! Twenty minutes later another phone call, this time from Amy's school " please don't tell me she's hand an accident?" I joke.... "Oh! But she has!" was the reply!!!! This time was a lot more serious though! She fell of the toilet and knocked herself out! Now, stop laughing!!!! OK, it is a bit (lot)funny!!!! She was fine by the time I arrived at school so I just took her home for an afternoon of major spoiling! She did end up with a huge nut on her head though!

Oh, please excuse the orange face she had just drunk a smoothie!

Well, been a while since I posted!

I'm sitting in my kitchen while dinner is cooking (Chicken Kiev, Leonaise potato's, cauliflower cheese, and peas) Amy is watching HR Puff and Stuff on DVD and Sophie is practising on the keyboard!!!!! Oh, and I'm watching TV as well... so I'm cooking, typing and watching Neighbours!

But going back almost to the start of today's BLOG... I'm typing this out on my LAPTOP.... YEP! I brought this last October and I have just got around to getting to internet on it!!!! Took me more than THREE HOURS to work it out... but I got it done in the end! So, no more sitting in the study with no heating freezing my bits off! I will get heating in there (Do have a little fan heater but that gives me a headache) when I decorate the study.... when I have the doll room built and can move my dolls out!!!! OK, cookers bleeping so will continue later!

I'm back!!!! So now I need to work out how all this 'NEW' updated stuff works.... main question? Where the BLEEP is spell check????? I have nooooooo idea and I'm no way posting this until I find it!OK? That's odd???? I knock the mouse and there it is???? spell check??? SPOOKY!

So dinners eaten and girls are in bed so it's back to my update! So what have we been up to? No, this is not a rhetorical question (NOTE: Without spell check things would not be 'rhetorical') Who know rhetorical was spelt so funny???? Anyway I digress, what have we been up to? I have noooo idea? I'm so bad at remembering these things! But, I will try. Well the snow has finally gone and the girls are back at school. I now have a floor in the living room and hope to lay the floor in the hall very soon. I've got it it's just a matter of laying it. Then it's on to the kitchen, have I mentioned I HATE MY KITCHEN!!!! I'm hoping that the new (grey slate) floor will make the kitchen look at least a little better?

I went out to dinner on Friday with  my friend Lorraine to the Goat....nice food at a good price! LOL. The landlord informed us that they are having a Chinese buffet on Valentines day. Well I'm not into VD but love Chinese so we are going!!!

OK, so I need to fess up.... I've had a tiny little splurge lately on the doll front! Should not have done as I still need to pay for the vacation, so that's it! No more!!!! Well, not until the vacation is paid for! LOL.

So you want to know what I've been buying??? Well, I'll tell you the things I can remember....

OK, I know there are other cliff hangers and some of you babies out there might not have even HEARD of Dallas!!!! So think BIG then double it????:wink::wink:  Well, I think it's good anyways!

My Dolly Diary.... Welcome to 2010!

Been a month almost since my last Blog... kids and the Holidays play havoc with my doll life!
The girls were due to brake up from school on the 18th for the Holidays but started a day early due to the SNOW!!! Thankfully mum and I had Benoit the day before and stocked up for Christmas so food was not going to be a problem. The next few days we were at home due to the snow, giving me time to clean the house ready for Santa! Thankfully the TV was overflowing with Christmas films so this kept the girls quite (ish)I was hoping for some doll time but no joy THERE! I did manage to keep up with the posts on the Doll Boards I look at and my Yahoo groups but that was about it!

Christmas Day dawned with no snow but very cold. Mum and dad arrived about 10:30 and we all opened our gifts.

Poppy (She was happy to be with me for Christmas) shows off my beautiful cabinet from Anna in Miami

This is Diesel (He arrived just before Christmas) with my gifts from Laurie

Santa's (he's meen with me for some years now) got my Candy from Cecilia

Eve my little Momoko arrived just in time to help me open these gifts including the wonderful OOAK Barbie!

These a some of my gifts! I joined the Doll Diva's Swaps

Even my girls received gifts... From Gwen's lovely girls....

Then mum helped me cook dinner Roast Beef and all the trimmings followed by Christmas Pudding and custard for some and mum's home made mince pie for others (me) . After dinner dad and Sophie washed up and made the tea then we watched TV and played board games. Having had such a large lunch I just did snack foods for tea. It was a lovely day... AND NOT ONE ARGUMENT!!!!! A family record!

Boxing Day was at my parents more gifts and a lovely roast Pork lunch then as on Christmas day board games and TV... only one small argument! Boy did we do well!

We then stayed home for the rest of the week as it was so dang cold!

New Years Eve we went to mum and dad's for lunch... crab sandwiches then it was TV while I helped mum with dinner Chicken with grapes. We went home about 9pm as it was getting icy out and Amy was getting sleepy.

New Year Day mum and dad came to us for a Lamb in Redcurrant and Rosemary sauce lunch followed by more games and TV. Again they did not leave to late because of the weather!

We stayed home for the next couple of days and I finally got some doll time! It started with a couple of pictures to wish my doll friends a Happy New Year but as always I got a little carried away and it turned into a three part mega tale! LOL But it was fun if not a tad naughty!!!!

Sophie was due back to school on Monday Amy on Tuesday. It was still very cold and in parts the roads were very icy but we made it to and from school both days.

THEN.....

SNOW! LOADS AND LOADS of the horrid stuff! So no school for the girls Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Today is even colder than it was and I'm sitting in my study with THREE jumpers thick trousers and bed sox in my slipper boots! The fire is on full in the living room and all the radiators are on high! I managed to shoot Episode 44 of The Priors yesterday and have decided to post every Thursday... so from now on Thursday will be The Priors Day! Talking of The Priors I just want to let you know

1. If you have missed this story so far I have a Synopsis which will help you catch up on all that has been happening so far and gives you some hints on what's coming up in the future.

2.This IS a story for adult's and even the normal episodes can be a little saucy at times. The direction this story is taking I just want to say those of a more delicate nature might find it a little much? I will endeavor to keep the naughty stuff for the UNCUT episodes but sometimes the story will require the 'bad' stuff be shown in my normal story!

For the rest of you I hope you enjoy the forth coming events as I try to entertain,  shock and surprise you throughout the year.

A sneak peak for Episode 44

This is a re post as the first one did not show up??????
Anyway if your not board yet I shale begin.... Boy what's been going on these last couple of week??? Well, how would you know... it's MY life! Sorry been at the silly pills again (chocolate! Does it every time!)
Sooooooo first off I (with some help from mum and dad. Mum papers dad paints....me? I supervise!) Anyway we decorated the hall

and living room

so after Christmas I just need to lay the floor and these two will be done. NEXT my bedroom and the dreaded kitchen! I HATE MY KITCHEN!!!!
I do want to get my Doll Room built but I think I will need to wait until the weather gets better? *sigh*
AND I need to finish paying for my vacation to MIAMI in May, YES!!!
Well, once the decorating was finished I spent last weekend putting up the decorations including three trees! So the next day one set of lights on the white tree died! DANG!!!! Good job I had three more sets on the tree..... OK, I like sparkle and I LOVE fairy lights!!!! This Friday the lights on my black tree buggered off and Saturday? The PINK lights went AWAL...pi**ed I is.
So apart from lights not working what else?
Monday... visit the supermarket and then in the afternoon after I dumped the girls on my mum and dad Lorraine and I went to see New Moon followed by a Chinese meal! Both were munch ( as kids say these days) Those FIT bodies!!!! Oh,to be thirty years younger! *sigh*
Tuesday... Washing and present wrapping then in the Evening a Carol concert and my parents golf club... this is when Sophie and Amy did their solo 'Away In A Manger' with the band.

The band say they look forward to this and they slow it down to the girls speed. Over 200 people come for Carols night and most say they come to watch my nutty kids sing???? I'd pay NOT to watch them... well, listen anyway!
Wednesday.... More washing! Boy can them girls get through clothes!LOL Plus, more present wrapping Oh, and water the plants (I have a lot of plants) No going out tonight thankfully I was in bed by 8:30pm
Thursday.... Amy's product in Ralph the GREEN Nosed Reindeer in the afternoon...Yes she did have the audience in stitches half way through she decided to get up and come over for a kiss!!! At the end they were alone the stage and came down to take a bow in their little groups as the do.. Well, Amy was a Elf

and they were first, they all went down the steps and stood at the front while we all clapped.....except AMY! She stood at the top of the steps with her hands out waiting for someone to help her (I'm guessing that through rehearsals one of the children had helped her down the steps but in the excitement they forgot) So the head helped her down she presented herself with a great big bowl and the audience cheered!
In the evening it was back again for the evening performance where she was a complete COW! Tried to hit another child with her toy hammer. He has special needs too and she was a constant iratant! In the end a teacher had to remove her!
Friday.... Housework and a guy came to look at my kitchen (I was hoping the housing association would replace it) but no joy! Then while I was waiting for Sophie to come out of school I got a phone call from Amy's school she has been put on a green card for being VERY naughty!!!!
In the evening we all went out to dinner for papa's birthday then when we got home while we all had cake and chatted I sent Amy to bed. We also opened my Doll Divas Candy gift from Cecilia in CA. Santa helped me display what's left... The piglets had to try some of my sweets!

I think it worked as she was so VERY good on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend was spent on homework, cooking proper dinners, writing cards as at last I got a little time for ME!
So that was my week, thank goodness I don't work I could never fit it in!
Will this week be any better? I hope so! It's dad's actual birthday today 79 so we are going to my mum's for dinner tonight But I might get some me time later in the week??? Still trying to film The Priors

I've had a bit of a week....

Posted by Susannah on November 22, 2009 at 1:43 PM Comments comments (11)
Well, were to start? I wanted to try a blog at least once a week not Dolly Cold Turkey is over but as always life just gets in the way....I must be getting old the speed time is running at the moment!
The week started of with the news that an Aunt I had not seen for many years had died and her funeral was last Thursday... my mum and dad went and apparently it was a beautiful funeral and they met up with a lot of family they had not seen for a loooong time! But that is jumping forward a bit so I will go back again to
Monday....
I was asked along to a meeting by my daughters pediatrician is was to discuses what services are available for special needs teens in Hertfordshire... apparently they are setting up a umbrella service and if it works well the rest of the country will start a similar service! I felt quite honoured to be asked my opinion along with three other parents, just need to see if they follow through with all this?
Tuesday....
Tuesday was my best friend Lorraine's 40th Birthday. Although we were all going out on Friday for dinner I felt she still needed to calibrate on the actual day so the girls and I went round for a Chinese dinner we had a fun evening although a little shore as the children had school the next day!
Wednesday....
Not a lot going on today although I did get the time to re dress a lot of my dolls ready for a photo shoot supposedly this weekend?

Thursday....
The day of my aunt's funeral and Sophie was home her school was closed so the teachers could do there holiday shopping...OK, that might not be the reason but who knows???? LOL
Friday....
After dropping Amy at school Sophie (yes, she had two days off) and I did a bit of shopping and visited the opticians to order her some new glasses! Funky pink ones with white flowers imprinted in the arms! Friday night we all went to The Goat for dinner, mum, dad, Sophie, Amy, Lorraine and her two boys Kevin and Stuart. Lorraine's elder son Daniel did not come as he had something else on. We had a brilliant night laughing and joking around... I think the people in the pub were glad to see us go!!! LOL Then we came back to my place for some tea and birthday cake!
Saturday.....
OK, so this is the hard bit! I was not sure wether to put this in or not? But it's about my life so I guess it should be here....
On Saturday morning I received a distressed phone call from my mum.... at first I thought something had happened to my dad but no................................... my mum's brother had an argument with his wife and stabbed her to death! This was some time between midnight and 5 am Friday morning! My uncle then phoned his son (my cousin) asking him to come other. When my cousin arrived my uncle was gone and it was my cousin who found his mum and called an ambulance and subsequently the police. Meanwhile my uncle had driven his van at a tree in an attempt at killing himself, he was found by a police man and Lord Marlesford wondering up the road. He is in hospital at the moment and my family are in a bit of a mess! I have spent a good part of the last two days on the phone but we still have little to go on!

Due to the above I have not got a lot done on The Priors this last week but hope to get a couple of episodes done next week!
